Food against toxins

Heat, drought and smog this summer have significantly worsened the ecology of Russian cities. And if so, you need to pay close attention to products that can help the body neutralize harmful substances from the environment.

Milk

No wonder it is given “for harmfulness.” It is believed that milk, as it were, “absorbs” toxins (including substances that enter the body with polluted air) and removes them.

What else is useful

The main advantage of milk is that this product is a wonderful supplier of calcium and phosphorus, without which it is impossible to keep strong bones and teeth. In addition, calcium and phosphorus are involved in the construction of brain cells and contribute to the smooth functioning of the nervous system.

On a note

The amount of vitamins and trace elements depends on how the milk has been processed. During the sterilization process, milk is heated to 135 degrees, and then cooled sharply. During this procedure, all bacteria, including those useful for the body, die, and most of the vitamins remain. Pasteurized milk is considered healthier. During pasteurization, milk is heated to 60-70 degrees, which allows you to save not only vitamins, but also most of the beneficial microorganisms, and at the same time stop the process of souring milk. The shelf life of pasteurized milk is short – only 36 hours.

Reconstituted milk is obtained by adding water to powdered milk powder. There are practically no vitamins and microelements in such milk.

Vegetable oil

Contains vitamin E – the “master” antioxidant. It protects the body from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays, cigarette smoke, air pollution and radiation.

What else is useful

Vegetable oil can reduce the level of bad cholesterol in the blood, so it is recommended for those who closely monitor the health of the heart and blood vessels.

On a note

All vegetable oils, regardless of variety, are divided into refined (refined) and unrefined. The first are distinguished by the absence of smell and versatility. Refined oil does not clog the taste of food, it is well suited for frying and deep-frying. However, during the processing that refined oil undergoes, almost all vitamins are lost. Unrefined oil is rich in vitamins and has a pronounced taste. It is often used as a dressing for salads and side dishes. The most useful among unrefined oils is the oil obtained by cold pressing. When you see the corresponding inscription on the packaging, you can be sure that all the beneficial substances in the oil have been preserved. Unrefined oil should be kept in the refrigerator. It spoils quickly at room temperature.

Cranberry

Due to its diuretic effect, it helps the body to say goodbye to harmful substances, and at the same time lowers blood pressure, which often rises in proportion to the increase in air temperature. In addition, unlike most diuretic vegetables and fruits, cranberries and cranberry juice do not flush out useful potassium from the body, which strengthens blood vessels.

What else is useful

It is believed that cranberries contain a huge amount of vitamin C. However, this is not entirely true, in terms of the content of ascorbic acid, cranberries are 13 times inferior to black currants, and even 40 times to wild rose. However, such relative “poverty” is more than offset by the presence of a rare cranberry in the berries vitamin PP, without which most of the ascorbic acid is simply not absorbed by the body.

On a note

Cranberries can lie in the freezer until next autumn and not lose their beneficial properties, and if your refrigerator is already full of supplies, just fill the cranberries with water and put them in a dark, cool place. Cranberries owe their lightness to the organic acids contained in them, which act as natural preservatives and prevent the berries from spoiling. Therefore, having stocked cranberries, you will provide yourself with vitamins for the whole winter without much hassle.

Kelp

This seaweed is often referred to as seaweed. Its leaves are 5% composed of salts of alginic acid, which is called the “natural utilizer of harmful substances.” Alginates bind some chemically active compounds, as well as salts of heavy metals.

What else is useful

Seaweed is the absolute champion in iodine content, it prevents thyroid diseases, lowers cholesterol and reduces the risk of cancer.

On a note

Examine the label on a jar of seaweed. Laminaria contains substances that can inhibit the growth of bacteria, and therefore, algae salad does not need any artificial preservatives. At home, open the jar and carefully examine the contents. If the seaweed is so soft that it falls apart at any touch, the product is spoiled. You can’t eat it, you can seriously get poisoned. High-quality algae do not lose their appearance: kelp leaves are elastic, but not hard, the brine is transparent, with a pleasant smell.

Tomatoes

The main wealth of tomatoes is a substance called lycopene , which protects the cells of the body from adverse ecology and helps prevent cancer. Moreover, if in most vegetables the amount of nutrients is sharply reduced after cooking, then the situation is different with tomatoes. So, after two minutes of boiling or frying, the amount of healing lycopene in tomatoes increases by one third.

What else is useful

100 g of fresh tomatoes provides a third of the body’s daily requirement for vitamin C. Tomatoes contain potassium, magnesium, and calcium, as well as iron and zinc.

On a note

Among all varieties of tomatoes , small cherry tomatoes and varieties of tomatoes that have an orange-yellow color are considered the richest in lycopene . But large pink varieties of tomatoes are ahead of their red counterparts in the content of vitamins A and K. When choosing fruits, give preference to those that hang on a branch along with their counterparts. This is a guarantee that the tomatoes ripened in the garden, and not in the process of transportation. If you tear off a branch with unripe fruits, the bush will rot.

Sauerkraut

There is a lot of fiber in cabbage, which, like a vacuum cleaner, collects all the “muck” that has entered the body. In addition, cabbage is an excellent source of vitamin C. It protects us not only from viruses and bacteria, but also from unfavorable ecology. Of course, fresh cabbage is a very healthy product. And pickled in the heat is completely irreplaceable. It helps to restore the salt balance in the body and stop the loss of moisture.

What else is useful

Unlike most homemade preparations, it surpasses the “raw materials” in terms of the content of useful substances. When fermented, special lactic acid bacteria are released, which “preserve” vitamins. The fact is that many useful substances, for example, ascorbic acid, are destroyed by long-term storage, and therefore, if you keep fresh cabbage in the refrigerator for several days, there will be less vitamins in it than in sauerkraut. In addition, lactic bacteria improve the activity of the stomach and intestines, help digestion of food and improve immunity.

On a note

Vitamin C is absorbed much worse in combination with iron. Therefore, those who prefer to add iron-rich apples to sauerkraut significantly reduce its usefulness. It is much better to eat these foods separately at least two hours apart.

POLYSORB – a powerful blow to toxins

A special diet is good, but no products will help if carbon monoxide molecules, heavy metal salts and other harmful compounds have already entered the bloodstream. Only the strongest sorbent, such as Polysorb MP , can relieve the symptoms of acute intoxication: nausea, weakness, vomiting, headache, dizziness . This medicine acts as a powerful antioxidant, effectively binds and removes combustion products and other toxins.

Cleansing the body of harmful compounds, it eliminates the signs of acute and chronic intoxication and normalizes natural immunity. Therefore, Polysorb MP is used for emergency assistance in case of fires and poisoning with toxic gases. It is also recommended to all residents of polluted industrial cities to prevent the development of allergies, asthma, hepatitis, cancer and other dangerous diseases.
