Dieta chronic gastritis

Chronic gastritis is a very common gastroenterological disease, with the development of which there is a violation of the functioning of the stomach. With gastritis, an increased or decreased acidity of the stomach can be noted. Depending on this, different diets are distinguished for chronic gastritis.

There are many reasons for the development of chronic gastritis. This is irregular malnutrition, abuse of spicy or spicy alcohol, in particular, if these products are consumed on an empty stomach. The habit of badly chewing food and a tendency to overeat also affect the state of the stomach.

People suffering from chronic gastritis, as a rule, notice constant heartburn, heaviness in the stomach, belching and flatulence, pain in the stomach and intestines. Acidity during the development of chronic gastritis, as already mentioned, is increased or decreased.

In some cases, patients suffer from manifestations of chronic gastritis that are not related to eating – bloating and rumbling in the abdomen, impaired appetite and intestinal upset.

The diet for chronic gastritis is crucial, since it is the properly planned diet that is the basis for the prevention of exacerbations in chronic gastritis.

Diet for chronic gastritis – with exacerbation

The main goal of the diet for chronic gastritis is to create calm conditions for the functioning of the stomach, to reduce the chemical and mechanical irritation of its mucosa. For this reason, nutrition for gastritis consists mainly of mashed food, boiled or steamed. Such nutrition is strongly recommended in cases of exacerbation of the disease.

Diet for chronic gastritis – preserved acidity

In the course of chronic gastritis, without exacerbations, patients are allowed to eat food, which may well have a mechanical effect on the gastric mucosa.

The main diet is considered to be diet No. 1, only all food products are allowed to be consumed in ungrated form. If the exacerbation of the disease is not observed, then ordinary food does not have a powerful irritating effect on the stomach. In addition, ordinary solid foods normalize the digestion process and increase appetite, which has a beneficial effect on intestinal function.

Diet for chronic gastritis – reduced acidity

If with chronic gastritis there is a decrease in the acidity of the stomach or a complete absence of hydrochloric acid in the gastric juice, then at the end of the exacerbation for a long time, the patient should be fed on diet No. 2. This nutritional scheme is complete and based on two principles – the protection of the mucous membrane from mechanical injury and the chemical activation of the secretion of gastric juice during the development of the disease.

In order to avoid mechanical effects on the gastric mucosa, food is given to patients in powdered form, mashed or properly cooked. It is necessary to include foods that contribute to the secretion of gastric juice in the diet. Such products include decoctions of meat and vegetables, herring.

It should be remembered that the diet itself with chronic gastritis is not the main point, since it is extremely important to follow a meal regimen for this disease. It is extremely important to observe small intervals between meals, you need to eat during strictly defined hours. During a meal you can not be distracted from the main occupation. All food should be chewed carefully. With all the dietary rules for gastritis, it is even possible to achieve an improvement.
